Membership form 3RD July, International Plastic Bag Free Day
What are our arguments for a world free of bags?
The plastic bag is considered the iconic symbol of the culture of a single use of waste and the demonstration of excessive and unnecessary consumption.
Are unavoidable environmental impacts associated al'excessiu consumption of disposable bags, as a means unnecessary consumption of limited resources as are, for example, oil ol'energia currently used to manufacture them and / or distribute them.
The amounts speak for themselves
:
In Catalonia, consumed 14 million plastic bags each weekend (FPRC Study, 2007) or 46 million plastic bags each week studies (ALEPH, 2007).
In Spain, a year consumed an average of 238 plastic bags per person.
Across the planet, it is estimated that a consumption of 500 billion plastic bags.
Many abandoned bags, and soil fauna affect our environment and natural environment.
Today, the spread of problematic consumption of bags was directly addressed to the consumption of bags made of high density polyethylene (HDPE).
However, we should not focus only on the plastic and not propose the replacement of plastic as a solution also involve the consumption of nonrenewable resources and pollution in the event that consumed the same amount of oxodegradables bags, paper , biocompostables, etc..
It is for these reasons that the solution is to radically reduce consumption bags short life, regardless of the material they are made. We support the July 3, International Free Bag Day 1. To effectively reduce the consumption of disposable bags. 2. For responsible consumption, where the main function of the container-transport systems is buying long-term or reusable. 3. Because government regulations and ordered to environmental taxation measures to make possible the effective reduction of the bags, and environmental awareness and communication activities, and do not depend on the willingness of the commercial sector and consumers. 4. Why apply deterrent measures such as consumption of bags incorporating environmental cost. 5. Because the public, municipalities, social organizations and the business sector commitment to this cultural and environmental change, and ask their governments, governments, commercial sector ... committed to these measures of pollution prevention and waste. Behind this initiative are many environmental and civic organizations, municipalities, governments, business sectors ... around for years have been developing campaigns, several initiatives and efforts to move in this direction. In addition, civil society has led important steps to achieve the goal of a world free of puffiness. Now, we must unite and coordinate the various initiatives and experiences from around the world. Just to celebrate the actions carried out successfully, but also to discuss international actions and to demand a more sustainable future based on concrete actions such as reducing the disposable bags, held on July 3 Day Free International Handbags and we get involved.
